B’nai B’rith President Seth J. Riklin and CEO Daniel S. Mariaschin have issued the following statement:

We laud the Israeli military operation that killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, the chief architect of the Oct. 7 terror attack on Israel that resulted in the savage massacre of 1,200 Israelis and the kidnapping of more than 250 others, with countless more injured.

Sinwar, with his genocidal aims on Israel, led Hamas in Gaza for more than seven years. He was believed to be in hiding for the last year in the tunnels he helped create throughout Gaza, likely using hostages as shields.

The elimination of Sinwar is a critical victory in the war against Hamas and against global terror.

More than 100 hostages still remain in captivity in Gaza, and we call for their immediate release.
